Overview
The Task Scheduler allows you to automate the execution of tasks and scripts across your environment. Instead of manual triggers, you can define specific time intervals, recurring cycles, and target groups to ensure your endpoints are always up-to-date and maintained without manual intervention.
Creating a New Task Scheduler
To create a scheduler, navigate to Schedulers > Task Scheduler and click the +NEW button.
1. Basic Details & Targets
Name: Give your scheduler a unique, descriptive name.
Smart Groups: Select one or more groups where the task will run.
Task: Select the specific task/script you wish to run.
2. Scheduling (Frequency)
Define when and how often the task should trigger:
Daily: Specify the exact time and timezone.
Weekly: Choose specific days of the week.
Monthly: * Recurring: Trigger on a specific day (e.g., "The second Tuesday").
Day In The Month: Trigger on a fixed date (e.g., "The 15th").
Managing Your Schedulers
In the Task Scheduler main screen, you can view all active and inactive schedules.
Key Actions:
Status Toggle: Quickly Enable/Disable a schedule.
Run Task Now: Trigger an immediate execution.
Edit/Delete: Modify or remove the scheduler.
Activities
Every time a scheduler triggers, it creates an Activity.
To track results, go to the Activities report.
Use the Task Scheduler filter to see all executions related to a specific schedule.
RBAC
Access to the Task Scheduler is governed by your Server Scopes.
Full Access: Permissions for all Smart Groups associated with a scheduler.
View Only: Permissions for only some of the Smart Groups.
