Overview

You can configure a policy to automatically assign endpoint accounts based on smart groups.  The policy automatically assigns based automatic endpoint actions (eg: REST API actions or policy-based provisioning) to endpoints that don't already have assigned accounts.  Manual deployment from JetPatch or from the endpoint itself will not trigger this policy.

Prerequisites:

• Smart Groups
• Endpoint Accounts

To configure a policy for default endpoint user accounts:

1. Log in as an administrator, go to Platform Configuration, then go to Policy > Accounts:

   

2. Click Create Rule.
3. Select a Smart Group, and Linux and Windows accounts to use for the group's endpoints:

   

4. Click OK.
5. When an endpoint belongs to more than one smart group, the first relevant rule is applied. You can change the Priority:
