Overview
To make a managed agent available for packaging and provisioning, you need to upload the managed agent .vai files to JetPatch Agent Manager.
- Managed agent .vai files are created by JetPatch Professional Services for each agent type according to customer request. You can also develop your own using the Self-Packager.
- JetPatch Agent Manager comes with some managed agent files pre-installed, but you may need to add additional managed agents or updated versions.
- A managed agent may be supplied as a single .vai file, or as several .vai files — one for each target OS. In both cases, the agent appears in the Library as a single item, and JetPatch Agent Manager automatically selects the correct file by OS.
Prerequisites
Required: The user must have Administrator privileges.
Upload a Managed Agent
- Navigate to JetPatch → Agents → Managed Agents and click Upload Image.
2. Browse or drag the .vai file.
3. Click Upload Image.
You can now create management services for this managed agent.
Note: If this is an updated version of an existing managed agent, make sure to remove the existing version before applying the new one to any endpoint, in separate provisioning actions.
Alternative: Manual File Copy
If the Upload option is not present (requires a subscription to the Agent Manager license), copy the .vai file manually to the following location:
/usr/share/intigua/package/
