Two Approaches to Integration

Integrating Puppet and Intigua marries Puppet’s server configuration strengths with Intigua’s unique management platform technology. The integration is centered around the deployment of management services, such as management tools encapsulated by Intigua to be delivered in a service-centric manner. Intigua has developed a Puppet module that allows Puppet to call the Intigua API. This module is available for download on PuppetForge at https://forge.puppetlabs.com/intigua/intigua. There are two basic integration approaches that enable management services to be deployed according to specific server characteristics: • Approach 1: Management services are configured and controlled with Puppet through Intigua • Approach 2: Management services are configured and controlled with Intigua according to Puppet-controlled tags Let’s take a look at both approaches using an example of deploying a back-up tool to a server: Approach 1 and Approach 2.
