Manage Tags & Tagging Endpoints

You can tag and filter endpoints with customizable labels. 

There are two ways to manage and Tagging Endpoints

JetPatch - Endpoint Management

A new button on the ‘Endpoint Management Screen Next to ‘ACTION’ - Button Title - MANAGE TAGS

1. Browse to /vmanage-server/patch-governance/#/endpoints/management
2. Click Manage Tags.

Two Procedures available for this Button

• Performed CRUD operations for Tags

  • When the user Only clicks the button (without selecting the endpoint) he will have the option to create, update, and delete Tags

  • ASSIGN Button - Disable

  • Select Tags - Disable

• Assign Tags to Endpoints

  • The user will select an ENDPOINT and by clicking the button will be able to associate them with TAGS, as well as be able to create a new TAG, update or delete existing TAGS

  • ASSIGN Button - Enable

  • Select Tags - Enable

When the User Press on the ‘MANAGE TAGS’ Button Pop-Up will be displayed

• List of all existing Tags

  • All Existing Tags will be Ordered A-Z

  • Mark Assigned Tags

    • When the User Select Endpoints & Click on the Button all Relevant Assigned Tags (To the selected endpoint) will be marked according to the selected Endpoint

  • Tags Actions

    • Edit

• Change Tag Name
  • Users will be able to edit the Tag Name
  • All Assigned Endpoints will be updated respectively
• Change Tag Color

• • Users will be able to Set Tag Frame Color

  • Clicking on the icon will open a color palette (same as in GWT)

  • When the user selects a color - All Assigned Endpoints will be updated respectively and assigned Tags will be displayed with the selected frame color (on endpoint > Management table)

• Delete

• • Users will be able to delete tags

  • All Assigned Endpoints will be Updated respectively & Tag will be Un-Assigned

• Tags Selection

• Tags selection will be available Only if the user has selected Endpoints before clicking MANAGE TAGS
• Tags Select Type - Multi-Select

Button ‘ASSIGN’

• The button will only be enabled if the user has selected Endpoints before clicking MANAGE TAGS
• When the User presses‘ ASSIGN’ All Selected Endpoints will be assigned to all selected Tags

Platform Configuration Screen

To manage tags:

1. In the Servers tab, select one or more endpoints, and click Manage Tags:

   

2. To create a new tag:
   1. Click New tag:

      

   2. Type the new tag's name and click OK:

      

3. Hover over an existing tag to see its controls:
   • : Delete tag.
   • : Change tag color:

     

To apply or remove tags:

1. In the Servers tab, select the relevant endpoint or endpoints.
2. Click Tags.
3. Select or clear the relevant tag or tags, and click Assign Selected

Note: Some tags can't be deleted due to a smart group dependent on it. Please remove the Smart Group first, then remove the tag.

AWS Tags

For discovered AWS cloud instances, instance tags can be imported selectively. Changes made to these tags in the JetPatch Agent Manager Console will be overwritten.  Please note that AWS tags cannot be removed from the servers and cannot be assigned to servers other than AWS instances.
