System Center Updates Publisher (SCUP) allows you to manage and distribute software updates. By default, SCUP may treat Google Chrome as an upgrade rather than a full installation. If you want to create an installation package instead of an upgrade, you need to modify the update rules to ensure Chrome installs on all machines, including those without a previous version.
Steps to Edit an Entry in SCUP for Full Chrome Installation
1. Open SCUP and Locate Chrome Entry
2. Duplicate the entry and change the name to '
3. Right-click the Copy of Google Chrome entry and select Edit.
4. Change the title of the package
5. Navigate to the Applicability Rules tab.
6. Remove or modify the rule that requires a previous version.
7. Modify "Applicability" Rules, Select OR and click on Remove(Red X):
8. Click "Next" and Modify "Installed" rules:
9. Change the rule to skip the installation when the chrome file exists
10. Remove any other rules and Continue to Confirmation. Close the wizard.
11. Click Publish to update the package in WSUS.
