For SUSE 11, you need to ensure ca-certificates is installed:
yum install ca-certificates
It is also recommended to pay attention to certain Zypper utility configurations. The Zypper utility is commonly used for patching in the SUSE OS family. JetPatch also makes use of this utility as part of its day to day patching activities. There are two aspects it is recommended to address:
- Zypper snapshot configuration (Snapper) covered in the following article: System Recovery and Snapshot Management with Snapper
- Zypper command logging configuration covered in the following article: Analyzing and Managing system log configuration
In addition, in order to install patches on your Solaris machines, wget is needed.
How to add the wget command on your solaris machine:
- Connect to your Solaris machine.
- Type the following command:
pkgadd -d http://get.opencsw.org/now
-->> select "all"
-->> select "y"
/opt/csw/bin/pkgutil -y -i wget
/usr/sbin/pkgchk -L CSWwget
